Professor Tony Meehan – FRSA, FCIPR, was educated at St Georges Westminster School, and Metropolitan College London. He is a Life Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and past Fellow of the International Public Relations Association and the Strathclyde Institute.
His public relations career spans a period of 50years. He is the founder and chairman of the international award winning Consultancy TMA Communications Limited. He retired in 2015. As of 2018 he is a Trustee of the Friends of the Yeatman Hospital, in 2021 he was appointed Governor and Trustee of Leweston School, both in Sherborne, Dorset, England.
His company represented major UK and International companies in Scotland including; Argyle Group PLC, American Airlines, Arcadia PLC, Bank of Scotland PLC, Buchanan Galleries, Burton Group, Debenhams, The Catholic Church, CBI GlaxoSmithKline UK, National Health Service, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish & Newcastle, Schlumberger, Scottish Press Awards, United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority.
TMA Communications was the recipient of five Golden World Awards, CIPR Sword of Excellence Award and numerous PRCA Outstanding Consultancy Awards.
His professional experience covered many aspects of public relations; Corporate and Financial Affairs, Crisis and Issues Management, Conflict Resolution, Internal Communications, Brand and Product launches, Corporate Social Responsibility. He has lectured and presented conference papers on Crisis and Issues Management, International communications, Media Relations, the Future of Public Relations at professional and educational meetings and conferences in Europe, North America, Russia, Africa, China and Kuwait.
